Hospital raised funds with two special events
Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital donated $500 to United Way on Friday, Nov. 20. During the month of October two events were set up to help raise money for the organization.
Catherine Baker, SSMH dietitian and in-house coordinator for the United Way fundraiser, set up a jeans day and a pie-in-the-face contest.
For jeans day, employees gave a donation to wear jeans to work with all proceeds going to United Way.
The pie-in-the-face contest consisted of several managers and staff members volunteering to get hit with a pie. Plastic pumpkins were placed in the SSMH cafeteria where employees and volunteers could donate money. The person who had the most money in their pumpkin was the recipient of a pie in the face. CEO Kevin Clement was the lucky winner and on the last day of the contest, Nov. 13, was given his pie courtesy of Administrative Assistant Jan Hanson.
