Auxilians enjoy annual awards banquet

Siloam Springs Hospital Auxiliary’s annual awards banquet was noon, June 22, at Arvest Bank Community Room. Auxilians were recognized for their hard work, fundraising and many hours served to benefit Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. The total hours donated by auxilians during 2008-2009 were 12,507 including 554 volunteer teen hours.

Outgoing Auxiliary President Sharon Sly was mistress of ceremonies and presented the Auxilian of the Year Award to Emma Stone. “Emma is always there” to volunteer, Sly said. “Some months she has 70 volunteer hours when a lot of us have 30.”

SSMH Chief Executive Officer Kevin Clement welcomed the auxilians and presented the Teen Volunteer of the Year Award to Callie Brown and the Volunteer of the Year Award to Nancy P. Van Poucke.

Arkansas Hospital Association Auxiliary President Betty Spencer and president-elect Carolyn Hannon both spoke at the banquet. The Auxilians also enjoyed entertainment by Greg and Lorrie Dixon of Harvard Avenue Baptist Church.
