When Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital asked former patients to nominate exceptional nurses who exceeded expectations, the community responded with an incredible number of nominations.

The Patient Choice Award recognizes the quality care, comfort and compassion offered by the nurses at Siloam Springs, and honors one nurse in particular. As part of National Nurse’s Week, May 6-12, Amber Butz, Registered Nurse, was presented with the award at a hospital ceremony.

Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital asks former patients to spotlight an exceptional nurse because patients are the ones directly impacted by outstanding care.

“Sometimes it’s just too hard to spot one nurse when there are so many nurses in our hospital doing such an incredible job caring for our patients,” says Cindy Kugel, Chief Nursing Officer for Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. “That’s why we asked patients to help us make the choice. They see the little things that matter so much on a very personal level.”

Amber is known for wonderful caring attitude and ability to comfort her patients. Her nominations came from several former patients who praised her ability to always be willing to go the extra mile with a smile on her face to make sure they were one hundred percent satisfied with their care they received while at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital.
