Patient Financial Responsibility

Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital (SSMH) provides emergency medical services to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay.

SSMH needs your insurance information at least 4 days in advance of a scheduled medical admit or surgery admit to allow us time to contact your insurance company, verify insurance coverage, verify financial responsibility, and obtain pre-certification if required. We will calculate your estimated out-of-pocket expenses since some, or all, fees will be payable on the day of service. You will be responsible for any charges your insurance company denies.

SSMH accepts the following methods of payment from our patients:

• Cash
• Check
• All Major Credit Cards
• Bank Loan (low interest through Bank of Siloam Springs)

Patient Advocates with HCFS, Inc. (479-549-2468) are qualified to pre-screen and assist you in applying for assistance through government programs for which you may qualify. Our Financial Counselors, (479-549-2460 or 2461) have expertise regarding your hospital accounts, and are on site to help guide you through your medical billing.

Professional fees charged by your physician and other specialists (including Emergency Physicians, Anesthesiologists, Radiologists, Pathologists, and Physician Consultants) are not included in your hospital bill. You will be billed directly by these physicians for their services. Please contact the individual physician’s billing office for information regarding your financial arrangements with them.
